You can build a super simple N scale holiday train layout with only 20-30 minutes of work (albeit spread out over time to allow for paint to dry). I used some plastic trees on mine, but you could use a bigger central tree, buildings, or other decorations too.
Here are the materials I used:
►Layout base: 15” diameter board (larger if you want)
►Track: Kato Unitrack 6” radius curves (8 pieces of track) or the Kato CV1 set: https://amzn.to/3Zi2a30
►Terminal Rail Joiner: https://amzn.to/3Z1BFNR
►An AC to DC adapter that can put out around 6 or 9 volts for a Kato pocket line train or more for a regular N scale train. Or, a battery powered controller like this one: https://amzn.to/3OnOz3I
►Gloss white spray paint
►Woodland Scenics flake snow: https://amzn.to/4i4uixE
►Small plastic trees: https://amzn.to/4eI5tET
►Large resin tree: https://www.michaels.com/product/145-christmas-tree-with-red-banner-tabletop-figurine-by-ashland-10752372?michaelsStore=1104&inv=3
